Nightingales’ co-founder Nick Bruce is featured in this month’s issue of Care Home Environment (pages 14-16) discussing Care after Covid-19. With over 30 years’ experience in the sector Nick raises some important questions around the future of care, both in care homes and in domiciliary care. He also explores the learnings that we must take from the handling of the pandemic including the shortfalls such as placing un-tested elderly in care homes and the risks created in domiciliary care by lack of timely and transparent communications to carers around the Covid status of home care clients.
He goes on to explore the potential that now exists to redefine the status of care, for care providers, carers and the cared for, and whether this will result in a resetting of the value that is placed on everyone involved in this undeniably vital sector.
