Anyone for Tennis
Whilst watching tennis is always fun, just because they can no longer pick up a racket the residents at Nettlestead retirement home were not prepared to stop there.
With their activities coordinators, Penny and Chris, to help, the ladies really joined in the occasion by making and pinning up collages of the players on the walls of the lounge. One particular poster of a younger Ralph Lauren was to survive for quite a while after Wimbledon by popular demand!
Gina, an Assistant Head of Home, recounted, “this is the first time we have made such an effort for Wimbledon and it is nice to see the ladies’ enthusiasm rewarded by Andy Murray winning”. “With standing room only for the Wimbledon tea on the 26th this looks set to become a permanent feature in the Nettlestead calendar”.
