We’re all set for the festive month and excited to spread holiday cheer throughout the home! We truly love this time of year—while it may be chilly outside, Nettlestead is filled with warmth and love.

As we approach the festive season, I wanted to take a moment to send my warmest wishes to you and your loved ones for a truly wonderful Christmas.

It has been a privilege to care for and share so many special moments with your loved ones throughout the year. On behalf of myself and the entire team, thank you for your continued trust, support, and partnership. Your kindness and encouragement mean so much to us.

We hope that you and your families enjoy a joyful and peaceful Christmas, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. If there is anything we can do to make this time extra special for your loved ones, please do let us know.

Activities for December 2024

Monday 2nd December – Getting ready for Christmas! Residents making decorations to place on our Christmas tree!

Tuesday 3rd December – Live music from the lovely Liam! Followed by an afternoon of Hot chocolates & Muffins.

Wednesday 4th December –Hair cuts & styles with Steve and a pampered afternoon with Jane!

Thursday 5th December -Relax and rejuvenate with Slow Yoga led by Ciara!

Friday 6th December – Join Chris & Sue for an exciting game of Prize Bingo!

Saturday 7th December – A fun filled day with Arts & Crafts!

Sunday 8th December – A peaceful Sunday to relax and unwind with, of course, a lovely Roast Dinner with all the trimmings.

Monday 9th December – Get creative with arts and crafts as residents make heartfelt Christmas cards for their loved ones, followed by a cosy afternoon of films, hot chocolate and marshmallows.

Tuesday 10th December – Our exercise day for Slow Yoga with Ciara.

Wednesday 11th December – Our weekly visit from Steve for hair cuts & styles.

Thursday 12th December – A live music performance from Sumi.

Friday 13th December – Another exciting afternoon playing prize Bingo with Chris & Sue!

Saturday 14th December – Residents can enjoy and get creative with a variety of Arts & Crafts, whilst indulging in their favourite snacks.

Sunday 15th December – A day to unwind and get ready for another busy week. Sunday wouldn’t be complete without a scrumptious Roast Dinner!

Monday 16th December – Santini to get our toes tapping whilst he performs live music!

Tuesday 17th December – Another Tuesday to stay active with Slow Yoga led by Ciara, followed by a relaxing Pamper Afternoon featuring massages with Jane.

Wednesday 18th December – A visit from Steve for hair cuts & styles.

Thursday 19th December – Residents will be making cookies with Jane whilst enjoying a lovely glass of mulled wine.

Friday 20th December – Newstead Choir will be performing for the residents.

Saturday 21st December – Our Christmas Party! Please come along to join us! Freeze Frame will be performing from 3pm till around 4.30pm 😃

Sunday 22nd December – A relaxing day of our favourite films and a lovely Roast Dinner.

Monday 23rd December – Present wrapping with Christmas films and mince pies!

Tuesday 24th December – Christmas Eve! Carol singing with mulled wine and more delicious mince pies!

Wednesday 25th December – 🎄🧑‍🎄🎁 CHRISTMAS DAY 🎄🧑‍🎄🎁 Residents will enjoy a lovely Christmas breakfast and of course a sumptuous Christmas dinner with all of the trimmings.

An invitation has been sent to all family members to join us for Christmas Day lunch with your loved ones. If you would like to attend, please kindly let us know by 20th December. We’d love to celebrate with you! 😊

Thursday 26th December –Boxing Day – a relaxing day with some nibbles for supper whilst watching our favourite films.

Friday 27th December – Afternoon Bingo with Chris and Sue.

Saturday 28th December – To be confirmed.

Sunday 29th December – A relaxing day from the busy week and of course a Roast Dinner to end of the day!

Monday 30th December – A day trip out – to be confirmed.

Tuesday 31st December – New Years Eve! ✨

One of our resident’s wonderful family members recently ran a half marathon for Dementia Aid UK and has set up a GoFundMe page. If anyone would like to contribute, your support would be greatly appreciated! 🙂
