Summer Party and open evening
We hosted our Summer Party in June which was a roaring success, even if we do say so ourselves. On 21st June 2014, our Nettlestead Care Home was transformed into a ‘Last Night at the Proms’ styled party which was attended residents and a good number of our HomeCare clients, each of whom certainly added to the party atmosphere!
Our guests were first entertained by a steel band before Susan Garrett took to the stage for her splendid soprano performance which featured a number of classics in keeping the ‘Last Night at the Proms’ theme.
With music in full swing, dancing couples scattered across the lawn and barbeque food on tap, all the afternoon was missing was some local celebrity figures. Cue the arrival of the Mayor of Bromley, Councillor Julian Bennington who brought along his wife as well as the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Kate Lymer.
Come the early evening, everybody was better for an afternoon of sun, singing and sausages which guests were loathed to drag themselves away from once the day had come to an end. If we have learned anything from this glorious summer day, it’s that the Nettlestead residents certainly can party and we will have to arrange a similar event in the not so distant future!
Thanks go to everybody who helped out at the event and made it such a lovely day, all of our carers did such an amazing job of ensuring residents and homecare clients alike had a truly memorable day.
