August is a month that invites us to slow down, soak up the sunshine, and enjoy the simple pleasures of being together. It’s a time for shared laughter, warm conversations, and making memories that last long after summer ends. Whether we’re enjoying quiet moments or joyful gatherings, the heart of this month is all about connection with each other, with nature, and with the season.

We had a lovely time celebrating our Audrey turning 100! Thank you so much to everyone who came and made it a special day for her!

Please note our Hairdresser; Steve joins us every Wednesday for haircuts/blow dry and restyling.

Activities for August 2025

Friday 1st August – Eyes down for a lively game of Bingo with Chris & Sue! Prizes, giggles, and good company guaranteed.

Saturday 2nd August – Nettlestead’s Summer Party! Let the fun begin…

Sunday 3rd August – A well-earned day to unwind after the party. Relax with a classic roast dinner, all the trimmings, and maybe a cheeky glass of wine!

Monday 4th August – National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day – Time to roll up our sleeves and bake up some sweet memories together!

Tuesday 5th August – Off on a scenic drive with a tasty ice cream stop along the way. Perfect summer’s day out!

Wednesday 6th August – Haircuts & styles with Steve to keep us feeling fresh, followed by gentle chair-based exercises to our favourite tunes.

Thursday 7th August – A lovely afternoon of games and quizzes, topped off with scones, strawberries and cream in the garden. Bliss!

Friday 8th August – Back by popular demand – Prize Bingo with Sue & Chris. Friends and family are welcome to join in the fun!

Saturday 9th August – A wonderful day of creative and engaging activities with Rozelin.

Sunday 10th August – A slower-paced day to recharge, enjoy a classic film, and indulge in a comforting roast dinner.

Monday 11th August – Pamper Afternoon with soothing music and light refreshments. Jane will be offering manicures for a relaxing one-to-one treat.

Tuesday 12th August – A peaceful day spent planting flowers and caring for our garden – green fingers at the ready!

Wednesday 13th August – Haircuts with Steve followed by more feel-good chair exercises to keep us moving.

Thursday 14th August – Time to get creative with an afternoon of arts & crafts, exploring colour, fun, and self-expression.

Friday 15th August – It’s Fun Friday with Sue & Chris! Laughter, bingo, and the chance to win a chocolatey treat.

Saturday 16th August – A relaxed day of light activities and tea and cake in the garden.

Sunday 17th August – A restful Sunday with a sing-along to favourite songs, followed by a delicious roast dinner.

Monday 18th August – A gentle walk to the local café for coffee, cake, and conversation – what better way to start the week?

Tuesday 19th August – Day trip time! Residents will choose between Ruxley Manor or Honeydale Farm – both full of charm.

Wednesday 20th August – Fresh hairdos with Steve, then time to get moving with energising exercises led by Jane.

Thursday 21st August – A treat for the ears! Enjoy a live performance from Joe the Singer at 3.15pm.

Friday 22nd August – Prize Bingo with Chris & Sue – another chance to win and have a laugh together.

Saturday 23rd August – More fun and variety with Rozelin’s weekend activities.

Sunday 24th August – A relaxing Sunday with a favourite film, friendly chats, and our traditional roast dinner.

Monday 25th August – A luxurious Pamper Day with foot & leg massages, accompanied by prosecco and nibbles.

Tuesday 26th August – A trip down memory lane – making scrapbooks and reflecting on cherished moments and new memories.

Wednesday 27th August – Haircuts with Steve, followed by a cosy afternoon watching our favourite films with snacks and drinks.

Thursday 28th August – Time for a bit of retail therapy on our much-loved shopping trip.

Friday 29th August – It’s Bingo Friday once more with Chris & Sue – will luck be on your side?

Saturday 30th August – Residents’ Choice Day – an activity-filled day planned by you, with Rozelin on hand to bring it to life.

Sunday 31st August – A relaxing end to the month with Sunday Roast and conversation – simple pleasures shared together.
